Kennesaw State University is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). To maintain this accreditation, the University undergoes reaffirmation of accreditation every ten years with a Fifth-Year Interim Report due between decennial reviews.

In December 2016, KSU started the process of reaffirmation of accreditation, which consists of a Compliance Certification, a Quality Enhancement Plan, and both an off-site review and on-site review.  SACSCOC Board of Trustees will vote on the University's reaffirmation of accreditation in December 2019.
