Donna DeGrendel, Ph.D.
Dr. Donna DeGrendel is the Associate Director of Assessment in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. In this role, she manages the university’s continuous improvement initiative, Improve KSU. Donna provides consultation to assessment leaders in all stages of the continuous improvement process, including assessment plan development, measurement and data analysis, and improvement planning. In 2017, Donna co-presented about Improve KSU at the Assessment Institute hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
Additionally, Donna develops surveys, consults on survey administration, and performs both quantitative and qualitative analyses of survey data. She serves on several committees, including the University Assessment Council, the Assessment Synergy Committee, and the QEP Assessment Committee.
Earlier in her career, Donna served as a human resources consultant at Advocate Health Care, a large health care system in the Chicago area. At Advocate, she designed and implemented organizational climate surveys, employee selection tools, performance management systems, and professional development programs. While her children were young, Donna worked as a Montessori educator, instructional designer, and homeschool consultant.
Born and raised in the Chicago area, Donna received her B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and her M.A./Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from DePaul University. Her dissertation examined the relationship between employee satisfaction and customer service behaviors. Donna has co-authored articles published in the Journal of Applied Social Psychology and the Journal of Business and Psychology.
Donna is also a Certified Montessori Educator through the American Montessori Society and a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. She enjoys yoga, hiking, digital scrapbooking, and traveling with her family.
